B2B Intern Journalist
About shecco
shecco, a global market accelerator for sustainable, climate-friendly cooling and heating technologies, seeks a junior reporter to work in its Brussels headquarters as a paid editorial intern. Good English is a must!
Our mission is to report on developments in refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump systems that incorporate natural refrigerants instead of super-polluting refrigerants that contribute to global warming or deplete the ozone layer. We do this through our news websites (Accelerate24.news, R744.com, Hydrocarbons21.com and Ammonia21.com), ATMOsphere global Slack-powered network, conferences around the world, and market development projects at our offices in Brussels, Barcelona, New York, and Tokyo.
We are seeking candidates who have strong writing and reporting skills, preferably with journalism experience, a passion for journalism, and an ability to explain technical information in an engaging manner. Candidates should have an interest in technology and science – how things work. Knowledge of refrigeration technology is not required, but an interest in learning about it is.
The job entails interviewing sources and writing daily news articles about policy, market and technology trends impacting natural refrigerant-based cooling and heating equipment, as well as other sustainable cooling/heating technologies. Other editorial tasks include daily monitoring of online news, contributing story ideas, sharing content on our Slack community and helping with social-media posts, email newsletters and audience development. Familiarity with audio and video technology and digital photography is a plus.
