News magazine looks at how organizations around the world use climate-friendly natural refrigerants – carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and ammonia – and other sustainable technologies
Brussels, Belgium (March 10, 2020) The March 2020 issue of Accelerate Magazine, now available online, describes the debate among industrial refrigeration stakeholders over which natural refrigerant system to use for a given application – low-charge ammonia, ammonia/CO2 or transcritical CO2.
Debuting in June 2019, Accelerate Magazine is the first news publication written for and about the most progressive business leaders working with climate-friendly natural refrigerants throughout the world. It incorporates shecco’s previously published regional magazines, Accelerate America, Accelerate Europe and Accelerate Australia & New Zealand.
The March 2020 issue of Accelerate Magazine (Vol. 1, No. 108) is viewable at no charge at http://accelerate24.news/magazines/.
The cover story of the March 2020 issue looks at the reasons three industrial refrigeration companies support three different natural refrigeration systems. While energy consumption is a key factor, other important considerations include safety and overall cost. All three systems represent new trends in the industrial sector: the reduction of ammonia in the system, the use of ammonia and CO2 in a packaged system, and the use of only CO2 in a transcritical system.
Also in the March 2020 issue are regional articles on: a massive CO2 refrigeration system used by pork processor Yosemite Foods in California; the use of transcritical CO2 by Italy Coop stores; the installation of a propane-based commercial air conditioning system at a building in Australia; and the upsurge of propane refrigerant in commercial display cases in Japan.
Global trend articles include: the application of the cooling-as-a-service business model; synthetic, ice-free ice skating rinks; saving energy via data collection; and an update on the regional adoption of higher charge limits for hydrocarbons in display cases.
For the last 18 years, market accelerator shecco has been active in helping bring climate-friendly technologies faster to market. shecco supports over 100 partners worldwide in the HVAC&R sector, where the focus is on sustainable refrigeration, heating & cooling technologies using natural refrigerants. shecco offers a variety of services in three areas: 1) media, including online industry platforms, magazines and a catalog of dedicated research reports; 2) market development, including market research, consultancy and public affairs services, as well as special international projects; and 3) events, including international conferences and national workshops.
