Sydney, 7 May 2018 – As top representatives from the HVAC&R industry around the world descend on Sydney, today’s ATMOsphere Australia conference set the tone of an important week for discussing the future direction of the sector in Australia.

The third annual ATMOsphere Australia event took place in Sydney’s Luna Park. The event directly preceded ARBS 2018, the Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Building Services Exhibition, which is being held in Sydney’s Darling Harbour on 8-10 May.

“We are proud to say that this was the biggest ATMOsphere Australia event so far in terms of number of attendees and sponsoring companies,” said Jan Dusek, business development manager for shecco APAC.

“It really shows how clued in Australia’s leading market players are with the development and application of the latest natural refrigerant technology available. We believe that the discussions that took place today have big potential to shape the market not just in Australia, but globally as well.”

With over 220 registered participants, this year’s conference saw an increase in attendees compared to the year before. It also boasted the highest number of sponsoring companies, with 25 backing the event this year.

This year’s conference set the tone for one of the busiest weeks of the year for Australia’s HVAC&R industry stakeholders, as the market for natural refrigerant systems in Australia continues to heat up.

Sky News Business Channel’s Jon Dee chaired a lively end-user panel. Speakers from Woolworths, Coles, Aldi and Costco were among those making the business case for using natural refrigerant technology.

Leading suppliers and installers of natural refrigerant technology presented their views on the state of the market today during the Technology Leadership Roundtable, while case studies were presented later in the day.

Representatives from Australia’s leading HVAC&R associations and industry bodies also discussed how to boost training on natural refrigerant technologies among installers and contractors, in a session chaired by shecco’s Caroline Rham.

The event also featured a Heat Pump Workshop. In this session, roundtable discussions and brainstorming sessions were held in order to create an action plan to increase industry support for hot water heat pumps using natural refrigerants.
